Cadet Girls Soccer

Bouncing Back

Peaks and valleys, the everlasting trend line of sports. The Cadets Girls Varsity Soccer team has bounced back and is off to a hot start in district play after an 0-2 start.
Big League Wins

Starting the season with two tough losses to Mead and Prosser, they were able to make the required adjustments and defeat Eastmont in their home league opener. Another small dip into a losing valley with a loss at home to University before finding yet another way to get over the hump and string together 2 consecutive league wins against Sunnyside and Davis, but an unfortunate duo of nail biting losses to West Valley (3-2) and Wenatchee (2-1) moves IKE to 3-2 in league play earning them the second place spot in the Big 9 behind Wenatchee.
Cross Town Rivalry

Speaking of league wins, the Cadets once again got the best of the cross town rival Pirates en route to putting a dent in homecoming festivities beating them on their homecoming night. IKE has not lost to Davis since their first meeting of the 2021-22 season and have since gone 6-0.
Upcoming Schedule

The Cadets are now preparing for the last game in the first go round of league, playing away at Moses Lake, before traveling to Highline to face the hot 3-1-1 Pirates for a non-league game on October 5th. Their second round of games against Big 9 opponents will begin on October 12th when they rematch Eastmont on the road, a team who they beat in penalties in their first meeting courtesy of Vianey Esquivel.
Big Hopes for Playoffs: Player Interview

According to varsity player Thalia Garza, the Cadets hopes for a deep playoff run are very much alive. The girls are incredibly confident in their ability to stay in the top 2 position in the Big 9 this season.
Leading Scorers

The top 2 scorers for the Cadets so far this season are Sophomore Vianey Esquivel at an average of 0.7 goals per game, and Senior Alondra Perez at 0.3.
