Eisenhower Color Guard Ready for Season
The IKE color guard is now back in swing. They started things off at band camp and have now improved so much since then! With 21 members they work on being in tempo so they are all together while performing, crazy tosses that they throw far up in the air that take a while to learn and can be pretty scary, and remembering the choreography which takes a lot of thinking and concentration; but, most importantly, becoming a family. You have seen the Ike guard in the assemblies performing Fight Song! And if you go to the first football game on September 13th, you can see the color guard and the rest of the marching band perform at halftime.
The color guard meets every Tuesday and Thursday where they practice their choreography, find and learn their dots on the field, practice performing to an audience, even making funny posts for their TikTok and Instagram. They practice and learn these things for the upcoming marching band competitions this October that the whole marching band and color guard go to compete in. They will be going to four competitions including Cavalcade or Kamiak on October 5th, BOA regional at the University of Idaho on October 12th, Harvest taking place here at the Zaepfel Stadium on October 19th, and then the Puget Sound Festival in Everett on October 26th! So keep a look out for the color guard members and other marching band members and give them good luck at their competitions!
