Ike Dance Team Goes to State!
Dance is a hardworking group composed of dedicated dancers. They started practicing in July during summer break and keep working on it throughout the year. They have worked so hard with many ups and downs but never let that affect their routines. They work together and are like a family. Their coach, Hailey Adkison, has helped them get to where they are now. She started the dance team back in 2016 when she was a student here at Ike. She manages the choreography for their routines, sidelines, and band dances and is a biology teacher at Ike.
This year, the dance team led the way in districts, surpassing the required score of 195 with a high score of 224.28 for pom and 218 for hip hop. This was a significant milestone, as it was the first time in Ike's history that hip hop had qualified for state. At the state level, the team's performance was exceptional, with the highest scores for Eisenhower since 2005. Pom placed 14th at 4A state, and hip hop placed 15th at 4A state, marking a triumphant end to their season.
