Go To Games and Show Spirit!
With the stirring atmosphere of students in spirit wear, chanting in the crisp air of a fall night, the Eisenhower football team hits the field on Friday nights. This is one of the most memorable nights for students at Ike. The game can help create unforgettable moments with friends or family. It could even help make new friends to share memories with. So make sure you prepare your friends and yourself for a memorable night.
The Eisenhower football team has been intensely preparing for this season. They took time out of their summer to go to weight training voluntarily. Some of the players also arrived at school early in the morning to get some training done. Actions like these show how much effort they put into improving themselves as a team. This is why we as a school should show some spirit and support our school team by merely arriving at the games. Show your Eisenhower spirit by wearing the IKE colors or following the spirit theme, getting together with friends to watch the competition.
Sharing laughs and excitement with friends and others is never a regret. It is also known that many kids don’t feel like school has anything more to offer than just going to class and doing homework at home. However, events like these football games offer something different from the basic daily routine of school. Being more involved makes it easier to try new things at school. Some examples are joining a new sport, joining or creating a new club, or even trying out a new elective subject. It could also encourage us to leave our personal bubble and become more outgoing. This isn’t just a huge part of the high school experience but also a huge benefit for life after high school. Being this involved doesn’t just help ourselves but the whole school.
Just being in the stands helps the school team perform better and feel more appreciated for the time and dedication they put into their program. The presence of other students gives them a sense of trying harder and makes them feel the excitement of winning. And I’m sure we all like to feel pride in our school. Winning games is a huge way to strengthen our pride.
The football part of the games isn’t the only thing about the homecoming games. There are usually many other events like the band, color guard, and our Eisenhower cheer team. These programs also put a lot of time and effort into their performances. Therefore, it's a guarantee that these students will want as many other students to attend the games as possible.
The Eisenhower Cheer team has always had new and entertaining stunts for the school. The band and color guard also have always had new and exciting performances to listen to and watch. It’s fun to attend these events and get into the tradition to have a sense of pride and belonging in our school.
Other schools are also fighting for bigger and better school spirit. So let's be better and dress up, cheer loudly, interact, and capture memories to get into the school spirit and support our Eisenhower teams.
