Cinco de Mayo in America

Washington State has become one of many cultures. What makes this state different from others is its diversity of cultures from north and central America. North America has Mexican culture. This is the main foreign culture in the United States. And Cinco de Mayo is a celebration in Mexico.

On May 5, 1862, a battle in Puebla, Mexico, began. Mexican soldiers fought for their land against the French soldiers. Mexican soldiers made the French soldiers stay back. This was so important to them because they could beat one of the most experienced armies at that time. But this wasn't it. French soldiers came back two years later. This time they brought 35,000 soldiers to the territory of Puebla. The Mexican army was able to defend their land with 29,000 soldiers and Mexican citizens. This Mexican defense lasted 62 days, and the French military could get only to Mexico City. After losing 11,000 French soldiers due to the unstoppable fight that the Mexican army created. The French government decided to leave Mexican territory and stop the invasion. Also, the United States said that if the French government didn’t leave Mexican territory, they would be forced to get involved to invade French territory.

Well, basically, Cinco de Mayo is a celebration of the Mexican army's victory against a bigger power.

We are aware that the school staff celebrated this moment on May 6. As part of the Mexican community, I have heard different things about making this celebration better. Making the place feel like you want to celebrate it. Mexican music may not be the type of music, but a good thing would be letting students ask for songs. For food, there should be very. Not everyone likes a single type of food. And as a reminder, tacos are not the only type of Mexican food around here. Some Mexican party games would be fun, but giving students freedom of choice makes a celebration way better!
