Something Spooky This Way Comes...

Well, Cadets, it’s starting to be that time of year when every store in sight has to put out their tacky Halloween decorations and sweets in bulk, and you could swear inflation just grew at your local Dollar Tree because of it. Even if, at the time of writing, it’s only September, it couldn’t hurt to get a little more festive. Halloween only comes once a year, after all!

This year - like every year - Eisenhower is hosting their annual Trunk or Treat event in the stadium parking lot. While it’s not official what day it will be this year, it will be set from 6-9 pm. Last year, there was a formal QR code you had to scan to be eligible to give out treats to the little ones, and this year, it will probably be the same. No surprise, though, you do need a car to sign up for giving treats out! It's called a Trunk or Treat for a reason.

Pro tip: if you decide to sign up, you will be expected to provide any candy you want to give out. All are to be individually wrapped; that means NO homemade sweets. Thank you to NHS for continuing the tradition!

Continuing on the topic of Halloween, however, you better plan your costumes soon - it’s quite surprising how quickly they tend to go off sale when the spooky month starts approaching. If you can’t think of anything, take inspiration from historical events! I mean, look at the Salem witch trials; that’s at least three Halloween costumes right there.

But regardless, Happy Halloween, cadets. Have a spooktacular month!
