Class of 24!

Class of 24 photo taken on 9.25.23

Walking into the building for the first time was a surreal experience. It was my Freshman year, and Covid was at an all-time high. Covid, the disease that killed millions and divided us all through a screen, eventually brought us to partial classes. Partial classes were basically half of us being online for half the week and the other half of students online for the last half of the week. The halls were empty and quiet, and everyone was wearing a mask. It was hard on a lot of people not being able to see their friends or really talk to anybody since we were split apart for so long. Slowly, the world started becoming normal again, and eventually, we would have classes together.

During my time at Ike, nothing really matches what It’s like to be a senior here. It can be stressful but also fun. You have to manage work and prepare for college as well. Something very positive about this year is that being a senior, it feels like you know everyone, and everyone knows each other. I saw people change through the school year, developing their unique personalities. Throughout the year, I joined different clubs such as Photo Club and Drama Club. These clubs helped me meet new people and teach me new things I’ve never known before. So if you have never joined a club at Eisenhower, I suggest you should. Join clubs, participate in spirit weeks, and go to events because it can open you up to new things and experiences.

Overall though, enjoy this last year. If you feel like you don’t really know what to do later in life, well, that’s okay.
