Homecoming 2024

Every high school student looks forward to this time of year. The homecoming game, dance, and voting for their favorite royalty. The review from this year was positive, to say the least. 

     This year's new component to Homecoming royalty was that students could vote for any two candidates instead of a traditional girl and boy. This allowed inclusivity for anyone to vote for their two royals. The two homecoming royalty winners were Levi Buegge and Lenora Leder. With a full court of people like Ahmaya Lemus, Giselle Armas, Mighty the mascot, Gisselle Aguilar, Anthony Douthit, Quinn Amaya, Yuri Carr, and Maximiliano Mendoza. The skits at the assembly to showcase these contestants' talents were hyped.

     The homecoming game is where everyone came together: Students, football players, band, color guard, and Eisenhower alumni. The game was close and the crowd was highly spirited. At halftime, the royalty was crowned and the music program did the halftime show before the big fireworks display to celebrate our homecoming weekend.
     The night everyone was waiting for to finalize the week's festivities was the homecoming dance. Everyone looked very glamorous, strolling across the red carpet to get inside. The crowd of people proved how much students went to the dance and had fun. Some would even say that the songs were better than last year's homecoming dance. The DJ played songs like “Not Like Us” by Kendrick Lamar and “Carnival” by Kanye. 

     These events are what make the high school experience worth it. Events like these mark a fun start to the school year.
