Types of Love in Romance Movies
The season of love is coming fast! This is the time to embrace your love by sharing it with others and yourself. One of the best things to do during this season of love is to watch the best movie genre to exist: romance. Romance movies almost always give a feeling to hunt for love, making it the best genre to watch during this time.
Romance movies don’t always embrace a gooey type of love. However, romance movies are often funny and are known as “rom-coms.” There’s also a depressing love that is shown in some movies as well. Even though these movies spring up a strong emotion, they’re always super entertaining. A big reason for that is because it shows us the ups and downs that come from love while also showing the uniqueness of human nature.
Some of the most popular fan-favorite romance movies are Lala Land, Grease, Titanic, 500 Days Of Summer, How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days, and my all-time favorite, 10 Things I Hate About You. All these movies embrace love differently. From romantic love to unrequited love. So, what is the difference between these two? Romantic love is one of the most common types of love shown in movies. It’s the love where two people mutually share their attraction and care for one another. “Titanic” and “The Notebook” embrace this kind of love. Unrequited love, however, is a one-sided love. It’s the kind of love where one person shares their love but doesn’t receive it in return. Some popular movie examples are “Flipped”, “Perks Of Being A Wallflower”, and “500 Days Of Summer”.
The different kinds of love don't end there though! A fan-favorite type of love that is shown in movies is no other than rom-coms. Rom-coms (romantic comedy) movies bring out the humor in love. It usually always has characters that people can relate to, making it easier for viewers to feel connected to the story. Some romantic comedies that are undoubtedly a must-watch are “How to Lose A Guy In 10 Days”, “She’s The Man,” “A Cinderella Story,” and, once again, my all-time favorite, 10 Things I Hate About You.
Watching these heartwarming and heartbreaking movies isn’t only good for one season but can also be great to watch year-round. Romance movies prove and show how love can come in many different forms. It also shows the uniqueness of human feelings. This is why romance movies are the best genre to watch during the upcoming Valentine's holiday.
