Everything I Know About Love, a “hopelessly romantic” album of her personal experiences and growth, was released on August 26, 2022. Laufey, pronounced lay-vay, an Icelandic singer-songwriter. She is best known as a jazz-inspired pop artist. She became popular when she posted a video featuring her song, Valentine, which then went viral online. Though she went viral due to Valentine, her most famous song is “From The Start.”
Valentine, third track on the album, is about the experience of unexpected joy of a first love. “When I hear an “I love you "," Cause now I've got someone to lose.”, highlights the confusion, awkwardness, and vulnerability of opening oneself up to love. “How the hell did I fall in love this time? And honestly, I can‘t believe I get to call you mine” showcases the experience of being in love for the first time and not quite knowing what to do with the electrifying and shocking feeling when you realize that someone loves you back.
