Ike Swim Makes a Splash!

As they have done year after year, the Eisenhower girls' swim team had another amazing season! The team's regular season record is 4 and 1. Overall, the girls made it to districts with a strong and dedicated spirit, with the State Meet coming up next.

Despite the challenges of swimming, the team displayed their hard work and enthusiasm throughout the season. Winning against teams like Davis, Moses Lake, Wenatchee, West Valley, and more. Showing their strength and determination to get past and achieve all their goals set for this season!

The main aspect in all sports is teamwork, and for the swim girls it was shown to be the most important part for them. When asked about this year’s successes, Adelaide Loeser mentioned, “I was surprised at how well we were doing, but everyone has been working hard, and we have a really great group of girls this year.” All the positivity among the girls helped improve the team's spirit, making it a friendly and safe environment for everyone, especially those new to the sport.

Our Cadet swimmers have caught the attention of the Yakima sports community, being featured in the Yakima Herald last month. Luke Thompson, a YHR reporter, interviewed Adelaide Loeser, her twin sisters Cora and Reed, and Emma Stephens about the resurgence of Eisenhower swimming this year under new head coach Andrea Redman.

The captain of the swim team this year is Emma Stephens. Reflecting on her time swimming in high school, Emma said, “Swim was one of the best decisions I made in high school. I thoroughly enjoyed being part of the team.” going on to say, “Swim has helped me to appreciate hard work. You can't fake it in swim. Either you put in the work and improve, or you don't.” Showing that great talent comes from not only pushing yourself and understanding your full potential but also helping your fellow teammates improve their skills as well.

The girls swim team finished 4th at Districts and everyone on the team set PR's. The team is headed to State with their 400 freestyle relay (Adelaide Loeser, Emma Stephens, Cora Loeser, Reed Loeser) and two individuals, (Adelaide Loeser and Reed Loeser).

Go! Fight! Win! Cadets!
