2025 Girls Basketball Preview

    As the weather gets colder, it takes longer for morning light and snow will fall; we are closer and closer to basketball season it gets. Tryouts are right around the corner, starting on November 18th, which is really soon and exciting. 

     Last basketball season wasn't the best for the girls, but that's what's going to make this basketball season even more exciting: seeing how the girls will do this season. This season has a lot of potential, but will it be pulled off? This year’s team is mostly full of seniors and juniors. If Ike makes it to state for the first time in a while, this would be the team that has the potential to do it. Ike girls basketball has a lot to prove to themselves as a team because of last year's record. It was not good at all because they lost more than they won.

     Last year, Ike girls' basketball got blown out by Davis, with the score sitting at 20-88. I think the reason is that the Ike girls didn't believe in themselves at the time and thought it was over before it even happened, leading to the most embarrassing game of the season last year. 

     This can be misleading because the school just thinks girls basketball is just not good, but this year will be different. Some people might not want to try out this year which is sad because the basketball program is really fun and misunderstood. This year is really something for the girls to look forward to.
