Ike Girls Basketball: Just Keeps Winning!
Your Eisenhower Girls Basketball team is 15-3 and has been very successful this year. I was able to get interviews with two players on that team, Lexi Tobiness and Nevaeh Lopez. So here is what they said.
How has the team bonded? According to Lexi, they have been bonding well and they have gotten over the ups and downs and their connection has worked well. Neveah says “Our chemistry has been there, and every game we just get better as a team.”
What have they learned from the time on the court? Lexi says, “We’ve learned to compete with everyone, keep pushing, and just to have teamwork.” What life skills have they learned from this? Lexi says, ”I’ve learned not to overthink and not to dwell on your mistakes and keep moving forward.” Nevaeh says “I’ve learned that just everyone has a role to play and they will do it and that we need communication.” Why would they recommend trying out next year? Lexi says “It just is fun, the bus rides are fun, it lets you feel part of something, and you know your teammates will have your back when you need them.” Nevaeh says” The whole basketball program is a lot of fun and coach makes it even more fun!”
So Cadets, show up for the district championship and support your Cadets basketball team as they make a run for state. The girls need our support and you can help them., Friday night at Ike.
Who are we? We Are IKE!
