Winter Weather

From the season's light snowflakes that don't stick to the ground to the thick snow and even the black ice that everyone slips on, December is a risky month for everyone traveling.    With everyone going into the last month of this year, it can get a little hectic, and people should be extra cautious when traveling to and from school, even though there has only been light snow, fog, and rains that seemed to have lasted all night long.

Everyone should still know the risks creeping upon us as the weather changes and gets colder. It only takes minutes for water to freeze into ice on the road at 32 degrees Fahrenheit, and considering the weather in Yakima, we have been in that range of 20 to a little over 40 degrees Fahrenheit, making it almost perfect for ice to form.

Students and teachers should be more careful when driving to school this time of year. This is especially true around and on the school campus when there is ice, heavy snow, and other weather-related hazards. The weather can also affect how students and teachers control their vehicles, ensuring everyone driving around at school is safe. It is essential to be aware of the risks. t
