Eisenhower’s Photo Club

Photo Club: a place of adventure, a place to meet new people, and a place of sightseeing. Photo Club is a group here at Eisenhower that has continued since 2011; it remains a constant part of Eisenhower. Over the years, Photo Club has gotten wins from SkillsUSA, a photo-taking competition. In addition, every year, the Eisenhower Photo Club provides community service photography to Vision for Independence, which provides services to people with degenerative eye diseases and the blind.

Every Wednesday, the Photo group holds its meetings. They talk about future plans or the usual meeting where it is just a casual meeting to meet new people and talk. Around Yakima, Photo Club takes photos for YPD and the school district. Also, back at Eisenhower, the group takes pictures of events such as assemblies, sporting events, and more.

If you’re looking for more of a challenge, you can try out for competitions such as the SkillsUSA, which begins with a regional competition that goes up to a national competition held in Atlanta, GA. There are also smaller competitions, such as the WA State High School photography competition in April and the Central Washington state fair. They are also involved in photography services for the Yakima School District and Crystal Apple Award photos.
