Authors are usually told that they should decide on one brand/genre of book they want to write and write every book with that genre, Colleen Hoover has decided to do different and write her novels on different genres instead of sticking to one genre.

It Ends With Us

It ends with us is Colleen Hoover’s number one book she has written. This book is about a girl named Lily who has just now moved and is about ready to start her life after college. The night she moves into her new apartment she meets a guy named Ryle in which she ends up falling for him. As her feelings continue to develop for Ryle, her first love, Atlas, reappears and makes it a challenge for the relationship between Ryle and Lily. This book has been rated as a 5 star book because, unlike any other romance novel, it did not fall into the same repetitive trap as other romance books usually do. When reading romance books there is the same basic plot in pretty much every single one, but this book doesn’t have that and is very refreshing. The amount of strength that Lily shows throughout the book is very inspiring. This book allows you to feel and experience everything that Lily has to go through which makes for a gut-wrenching that will make you laugh, smile, and cry. The story dives in and explores the grey area of things and shows how life is definitely not purely black and white. The book is constantly surprising and you will never want to put the book down. Overall, this book is not only one of the best romance books that you can read, but one of the best books you have ever read in general.

Ugly Love

Ugly Love is another one of Colleen Hoover’s best and most read books. The book follows Tate Collins is a 23-year-old nurse who is studying to become a registered nurse and working at a hospital. She decides to move to San Francisco to be able to save money by staying in a high-rise apartment with her brother, Corbin, who is overprotective and a pilot. When she arrives she meets Cap who is a charming 80-year-old elevator attendant who becomes friends with her immediately. When she arrives at her brother's apartment, the first person she meets is Miles Archer, who is sitting outside the door drunk. It’s not love at first sight as Miles is rude to Tate but then tries to start fresh afterward. Tate and Miles have very different focuses, Tate is focusing on her work and studies, while Miles is very guarded about his personal life and especially his past. After spending thanksgiving together, Tate had to nurse Miles back to health, in which he ends up kissing her. After this moment it is clear that they have an undeniable mutual attraction, but there's one problem. She doesn’t have time for love, and he doesn’t want love. They agree to being friends with benefits with no strings attached. Ground rules are set that Tate is not to ask about his past nor seek a future with him, but she struggles to stick with them. In the end, Tate is finally able to know why Miles is so closed off with his feelings and especially his past. Something in the past that completely changed his view of love. When you read this book it will be full of laughs, smiles, and definitely tears. You can feel the pain in the story as you read it. This is another story by Colleen Hoover that is hard to put down and is just an amazing book in general.
