A Summary of Jujutsu Kaisen (JJK)

Jujutsu Kaisan is a really confusing series. Jujutsu Kaisan, aka JJK, is a series created by Gege Akutami. Spoilers ahead if you’re not kind of caught up with the manga. JJK is about sorcerers using curse techniques to fend off cursed spirits, which are created from negative emotions. For example, stress and fear. Curse techniques are basically using dark magic against ghouls if you are not a giga nerd. No disrespect to the nerds because they kind of edit my articles. The main character usually shifts around between Yuji Itadori, Yuta Okkotsu, and Satoru Gojo.

The story's official protagonist is Yuji, but it usually revolves around Gojo and Sukuna. Gojo is important to the story because his birth shifted the world's balance. Due to that, Gojo plays a huge role in the story. Serving as the mentor to Yuji at the beginning of the story and Yuta midway through the story. As for Sukuna. He serves as the main bad guy. Unlike most bad guys who do things in the shadows like the evil emo people they are. Sukuna basically lives inside of Yuji for a huge chunk of the story. This is because Yuji eats a special-grade cursed object, one of  Sukuna’s fingers (and later has to consume all of the other 19 fingers). This made Sukuna manifest inside Yuji, making him a vessel for Sukuna.

Now, going into depth to the story, Sukuna finds Yuji’s friend, Megumi Fushiguro, interesting because it seems like Megumi has inherited the prized “Ten Shadows Technique” of the Zenin clan, and the strongest sorcerer, Gojo, also favors him. He eventually leaves Yuji for his friend like a child, abandoning his toy for another toy.  After Megumi becomes Sukuna’s new vessel, we skip a couple of chapters, and Sukuna finally gets completely reincarnated, killing Megumi (completely taking over his body and reshaping his body into his own) and fighting with Gojo.

Two of the strongest sorcerers to ever live go head to head. The victor of the battle was Gojo, showing a chapter of him beating Sukuna as if he were his personal punching bag until the next chapter was released when it showed Sukuna standing over the deceased Gojo, cut in half. With no explanation, Sukuna became the new victor. That’s all I've read so far, and the show/anime is cool and funny as well. It is also dark in some areas. I would recommend it if you like Action, Demons, Horror, School, Shounen, or Supernatural anime or just plan to watch it, but I prefer it if you read the manga because it feels more fleshed out than the anime.
