TechnoBlade

On the last day of June this year, the famous Minecraft Youtuber TechnoBlade died from stage 3 cancer at only 23. The news of his death was posted on his YouTube channel with a video titled “so long, nerds.”

The video contained TechnoBlades father narrating Techno's last words to his fans. This news shocked the entire Minecraft community as Techno was one of the major influencers behind Minecraft’s success. He was a big part of the Dream SMP, a multiplayer survival game in Minecraft that consisted of some of the internet's most popular people, such as Karl Jacobs, Wilbur Soot, and of course, Dream.

He was also a part of Origins SMP with some of the people on Dream SMP. At the time of Techno's death, he had 15 million subscribers on YouTube, and that number has nearly doubled since his passing. Mojang, the company behind Minecraft, even made the load screen say “TechnoBlade Never Dies” and a pig with a crown as a tribute to him.

Technoblade significantly influenced so many, myself included, as he was one of my biggest inspirations on why I wanted to start making content. His sense of humor was amazing, and he was always so kind to everyone: his colleagues and his fans. It will be hard to go back from this loss, but to all my Minecraft and TechnoBlade fans out there, I leave you with this, heroes are never forgotten, but legends never die. Long live the Blood God TechnoBlade. May he be living it up there in the sky with all the potatoes he desires. We miss you, king.
