Kendrick and the Final Studio Album
Kendrick Lamar has recently announced the release date of his final studio album “Mr. Morale and the Big Steppers,” which will be released on May 13, 2022. His last album that he released was DAMN on April 14, 2017. Many people are excited as they have been waiting for the rapper to drop another project, especially since his last one won him a Pulitzer Prize for music. After all, it has been about five years since, and many fans are anxious about what direction he will take for his final album with his label, TDE(Top Dawg Entertainment).
Personally, I hope to see an album that glosses over Kendrick's thoughts and emotions during the eternity of his career leading up to this album. What we know so far is that he is very creative and a well-respected artist covering many tough topics, including what it was like for him living in Compton, California, and the point of view of society through an African American eyes. But very little do we get insight into Kendrick and his very being during his career and its effects on him, along with the hard choices he made to be where he is now. Those few instances or songs where he does talk about it, the tracks are very elusive, and in my opinion, they are pure works of art. Overall in his career, Kendrick Lamar’s discography has been one for the ages. Lamar has also been deemed one of the greatest rappers of all time, so the excitement and hype for this album is extremely high.
