Cross Country at State

On November 4th The Cross Country team sent six runners to state to run in three different events.

Zophie Hopkins, Carris Cuevas and Katherine Mickelson all raced in the Girls 4A race at 1:30 pm. Zophie finished in 51st place with a time of 19:57.8, Carris finished in 84th with a time of 20:30.8 and Katherine came in at 20:51.9 for 100th place at the state meet.

Javier Benito raced in the 2.1 mile Ambulatory at 2:00 pm. Javier came across the line finishing in 5th place for a time of 14:19.1.

Lastly the Boys 4A began at 3:00 pm which saw Nemiah Villanueva and Aiden Waddle. Nemiah finished with a time of 17:05.5 to finish in 74th while Aiden was able to finish at 85th with a time of 17:09.9.

The state course at Sun Willows Golf Course in Pasco is a very tough course to run as the course is 3.1 miles with a lot of hills causing runners to tire out on the third mile. With this in mind the team ran a pretty good race.

As always for other people that are interested in joining Cross Country for next year, talk to Mister about it or show up for Summer Conditioning at the very end of the school year, the girls team really needs more runners for next year as there were only nine that ran this year.
