Seahawks Draft: 2022
So the 2021 NFL draft is over and all the picks were in and there were certainly some interesting picks. In this article, I will be talking about what the Seahawks did in the draft and giving the picks grades.
1st round Pick 9
Charles Cross Offensive Tackle Iowa State
I really like this pick because it means the Seahawks were building the O-line for once with a good player. Premier tackles in the NFL are really hard to get and expensive. I think the Seahawks got one with this pick. He probably was the best pick right.
Grade: A
Round 2 Pick 40
Boye Mafe Linebacker Minnesota
This was an ok pick. It was a position in need, but I didn’t like him with this pick. I felt they could’ve waited until the later rounds to get an edge rusher. I think he won’t start this year, but this may end up being a good pick.
Grade: B-
Round 2 Pick 41
Kenneth Walker III Running Back Michigan State
Wow, this was a blind side pick. I felt this should’ve been another position that they could’ve waited on until rounds 4 or 5 and gotten a good back. He is a really good back and platoon with Rashad Penny.
Grade: B+
Round 3 Pick 72
Abraham Lucas Offensive Tackle Washington State
This was a really good pick. Picking another offensive tackle early in the draft was a really good pick. You are getting another future starting tackle so you have that. He will be an impact pick and help in the first year.
Grade: A-
Round 4 Pick 109
Coby Bryant Cornerback Cincinnati
This was a steal of a pick. A guy who was projected to be a second rounder fell to the fourth and was a position of need. He will be really good and will start or at least compete for a starting job year 1.
Grade: A
Round 5 Pick 153
Tariq Woolen Cornerback UTSA
Another steal of a pick. He was a projected third rounder who fell to the fifth. He will be another guy who will compete for a starting job year 1.
Grade: A
Round 5 Pick 158
Tyreke Smith Linebacker Ohio State
This is when the Seahawks should’ve picked a linebacker. He will be a special teamer and a backup linebacker year 1 and probably not start for a while.
Grade: C
Round 7 Pick 229
Bo Melton Wide Receiver Rutgers
This was what you expect out of a 7th round draft pick. He will compete for the 5th wide receiver spot on the roster. If he makes the team, don't expect much out of him.
Grade: C
Round 7 Pick 233
Dareke Young Wide Receiver Lenoir-Rhyne
A bit surprising only because they took Bo Melton four picks earlier. He will compete with Melton for that last receiver spot on the team. Don’t expect much if not anything from.

OVERALL GRADE: B-
