Impact of Tik Tok on Society

Tik Tok, the social media app that has been one of the most popular among young people and some older adults, has become controversial over the last few months. Lately, Tik Tok has been coming out with many different trends that have significantly impacted society. Sometimes those types of trends are funny, but those types of trends look funny until we see the problems these types of trends can cause. The new generation of young people has an open mind, and that has pros and cons. 

One of the biggest trends this time was students stealing stuff from school that students call “licks.”This trend consists of students stealing things from school. Some of them stated stealing paper and soap from the bathrooms, but this trend kept going until the students were stealing big stuff such as projectors, they were taking the bathroom doors, some of them even took the whole toilet out of the bathroom. 

There was another trend that included hitting people, specifically the teachers and school staff. This trend did not become as popular as one of the licks. This was a trend where students were going through school, and when they saw a teacher or some kind of school staff, they would hit them. Some of them did not hit them hard, but some of them knocked them down. Besides, this trend is dumb enough.  It’s also dangerous.

Before you all try to do these trends, students think about the problems that come with them. Think about how stealing is against the law, and it could take you to a juvenile detention center or a regular jail. I don’t believe we are dumb enough to be doing this trend; we are old enough to make these childish trends. If we talk about the trend of hitting the teacher, think about what is called assault. You could get a lawsuit of assault if you hit someone that wasn’t doing anything to you. This is the true and negative impact TikTok has been hitting on our society.
