Ike’s Haunting Halloween Concert
The annual Halloween concert took place on Wednesday, October 23rd. All of the performing arts groups worked extremely hard for this concert, which came together quickly. The Jazz 1, Chamber Orchestra, Chamber Choir, and Lancers all put a lot of work into multiple songs to perform for their families, friends, and others in the community.
Chamber Choir, Chamber Orchestra, and Jazz 1 collaborated on a spooky song called Double Trouble from Harry Potter, featuring Lillian Gu on piano.
The Lancers performed a song just themselves that will make your skin crawl called La Llorona, which Vincent Chavarria arranged.
Jazz 1 performed three songs alone. Those consisted of, Splanky arranged by Sammy Nestico, with solos by Kayle Chandler and Seth Wilson, Over the Rainbow, arranged by Alan Baylock; solos by Blake Wilson and Seth Wilson, and last but not least, Sing, Sing, Sing by Mike Lewis, solo by Levi Buegge.
Then the Chamber Orchestra played multiple songs, Knock, arranged by Joan Jeanrenaud, The Gnome, the Hut of Baba Yaga, and the Great Gate of Kiev from Pictures at an Exhibition, Danzas Argentinas: II., Danza de la Moza Donosa, arranged by Timothy Rooney.
At the end of the concert, all of the performing arts group joined others to perform The Little Shop of Horrors Melody, arranged by Andy Beck, featuring Lillian Gu and Kian Compton on piano.
A few fun and exciting events happened at this concert, like a costume contest, which included different categories, such as the best homemade costume, the scariest costume, and the best costume overall. Then, at the end of the concert, the best treat of Halloween was giving out…candy!
These groups had a blast putting on this concert, showing off their hard work and amazing costumes. Thank you to everyone who came out to support them!
Happy Halloween!!!
